WCG colleges across Worcestershire are opening their doors to prospective students at a series of open events next few week.
The open events at Evesham, Pershore and Malvern Hills Colleges are for students of all ages, at all study levels, whether they are leaving school or looking for an apprenticeship, part-time or higher education course.
With a wide range of subjects, study options and apprenticeships available, WCG colleges offer one of the broadest ranges of opportunities in the area. The annual January open events give prospective students and their families the chance to get the information they need to decide which course or apprenticeship is right for them and their career goals.
Visitors can talk to current students and tutors, view campus facilities and find out more about college life. The college’s friendly, impartial student advisers will also be on hand to offer confidential advice on careers and opportunities available, as well as funding options and transport.
Louise Dickens completed a Level 3 Diploma in Childhood studies last year at Evesham College and is currently studying to be a nanny at the world-famous Norland College in Bath. Before Lucy Harrison started studying for a degree in zoology last October she achieved a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Animal Management at Pershore College. She said: “Studying at Pershore was a great learning experience. The atmosphere is really friendly and relaxed, and the lecturers are brilliant. I particularly enjoyed the hands-on practical experience in handling animals and have got a lot more confident at it.”
Malvern Hills College Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy student Shauna Roberts was named as Student of the Year 2018. Shauna completed her Level 2 and 3 qualifications at college and is now working as a hairdressing and beauty therapist trainee at The Sanctuary at Holloways in Suckley.
She said: “I had a fabulous time studying at Malvern Hills College and really enjoyed both my courses. I can’t thank my tutors enough as they’ve both done so much for me. I just wouldn’t be where I am today without them.”
