Worcester Mixed Ability Rugby are an all inclusive rugby side, who play a form of rugby that any adult can join in with, whatever their ability or disability! They aim to show that sport can be inclusive for people with any barrier! Mixed Ability Rugby is contact and non contact in the same game so those who cannot or don’t want to take physical contact, can still enjoy the brotherhood of rugby.
Mixed Ability Rugby is a very fast growing sport and as such the 3rd Mixed Ability World Cup will take place in 2020 in Ireland with sides from around the world attending including Italy, Spain and Argentina!
With that in mind, Worcester Mixed Ability Rugby begin fundraising next month with their 2nd Battle of the Bands event! Last year’s event raised well over £1000 so the team are hoping this year will be bigger and better again with LOADS more bands, raffles and fun games. The event is suitable for all ages and takes place on Friday 29th June @ 7pm at Worcester RFC on Offerton Lane.
The team are also looking to recruit players this Summer and promise a safe, fun, friendly environment to play in; Tuesday evenings 6-730pm at the Sixways training pitches (over the canal)
Worcester Mixed Ability is rugby for everyone, an inclusive sport, for people of all abilities and disabilities based at Worcester RFC. For more information visit https://www.facebook.com/WorcsMixedAbilityRugby/ or find them on Twitter @WRMixedAbility
